They fit the bike I bought them for very well. The spikes help keep the shoes in place on the cleats, but you should be careful with, for example, canvas sneakers so that they don't get caught on the spikes.

I haven't pedaled yet, but I'm examining the pedals as an "engineer" and at this point I'm convinced of the quality. We'll see how it goes with both of them. In that sense, this question came too early for me.
